The key purpose of this role is to establish effective and continuosly improving manufacturing processes for a range of complex and specialist gas sensors. You will adopt a supportive position in the development of a high performing product quality team who skillfully apply quality management techniques, such as quality briefings, structured problem solving techniques (8D) & SixSigma methodology.
The position also plays a key role in NPI projects through developing & defining effective CTQs parameters, control plans and SOPS for all new products.
Principle Responsibilities will be to:
Support analyser production in development and maintenance of yield metrics. Investigate sources of yield loss and key process variation to root cause. Drive/facilitate yield issue 8D investigations and corrective actions to continuously improve the control and effectiveness of manufacturing processes. Perform regular audits to ensure high levels of compliance to known procedures and good practices.
Support production in investigating sources of scrap loss to root cause. Crive . facilitate scrap issue 8D investigations and corrective actions.
Actively participate in the Team VM board meetings to lead and represent the “Quality first” agenda for the manufacturing group on behalf of the Head of Quality, nurturing the culture & spirit of continuous improvement every minute, every day.
Support the BUs in developing effective manufacturing process controls for new products and product varaiants. Champion the development of world class manufacturing quality systems for these products as part of the NPI team.
Support CFS manager in effective containment actions to protect the customer together with 8D investigations and effective preventive actions related to manufacturing-based errors reported by customers or regional offices.
Ideally, you will be:
Degree qualified or equivalent
Minimum 5 years in technical Quality Engineering role.
Minimum 5 years in ISO/QS9000 / TS16949
8D problem solving (or equivalent)
SixSigma qualification is desirable.
£35K – £40K salary is on offer.
