The Role

Due to the changing needs of the business, internal promotions and a large increase
in projects we are now urgently seeking to recruit a resourceful Project/Design
Engineer to join the expanding Technical Engineering Department, ideally from a
flexible, batch manufacturing background. Candidates with knowledge of the
offshore renewables industry or oil and gas would have a distinct advantage.

Working within a committed Engineering team, the successful candidate will be
responsible for new product development projects, from customer RFQ through
commercial feasibility to product launch and production. The role requires
familiarisation with a wide range of materials; elastomers, rubbers,
thermoplastics, steels and manufacturing processes, including; injection
mouldings, polyurethane elastomers, machining.

Requirements

Hold a minimum Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline either Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

* Possess a thorough understanding of 2 & 3D CAD packages, able to generate detailed engineering drawings preferably within Autodesk products
* Experience in using project management software such as Microsoft Project
* Have a minimum 5 years experience ideally gained within a flexible, customer responsive batch manufacturing environment
* Have excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of FEA packages; ANSYS and their applications would be a distinct advantage
